Our roasting team is thrilled to announce that we have won both a Silver and Bronze medal for two coffees in the 2026 Global Coffee Awards!
In the Filter coffee category, Worka Chelbessa (washed, from Gedeb, Ethiopia) received a Silver award, and Concepción Huísta (washed, from Huehuetenango, Guatemala) won a Bronze award.
We are especially honored to receive these awards because they were selected by a double-blind panel of expert judges. That means that no one involved in judging the coffees knew which samples were which. As roasters who often cup our own coffees blind, we appreciate that the Global Coffee Awards judges simply evaluate the coffees in front of them for how they show up in the cup. Worka and Concepcion are showing up beautifully!
We submitted these coffees to the Global Coffee awards because we know and love them well. We have bought these coffees year over year since 2019. Both coffees come from large communities that gather harvests from many different producers and provide infrastructure to wash, dry, and build lots in their regions. Ultimately, both coffees have a very clean cup that allows us to taste many of their delicate qualities. Try them for yourself and let us know what you think!
